Building on last year's Data 2.0 Conference
Last year at the Data 2.0 Conference 2011 over 500 participants from over 200 tech companies convened and discussed the new online data ecosystem of API's, social data, geo data, data-as-a-service, and big data. Speakers from Google, Twitter, RapLeaf, InfoChimps, Twilio, ReadWriteWeb, and 40 other data innovators spoke to an audience of international entrepreneurs and technology professionals about the ramifications of the over-abundance of online data.
Data 2.0 Summit: Understanding the DataWeb
This year's Data 2.0 Summit will host thought leadership discussions on the "DataWeb": how companies are building on top of (and investing in) a long-term foundation of social data, open gov data, business intelligence data, and customer data. "Web 1.0" involved pages linking to pages. "Web 2.0" involved users linking to people, places, and things across web applications. All of this has enabled the DataWeb, how web applications talk to web applications for the exchange of social data, business intelligence, consumer advertising data, real-time social media, or even shared data objects in the case of Parc CCN.
